Salvation Army kicks off Red Kettle campaign in West Michigan

The Salvation Army is kicking off their red kettle campaign for the holiday season.

The program collected $1.2 million last year, which was below their goal, so the organization says they are making some changes this year.

Grand Valley Area commander Major Timothy Meyer says the goal this year is just slightly above $1.4 million.

This year donations can be collected by dropping money in the kettle, tapping your card or phone on a reader or by donating through a QR code.
