A West Michigan nonprofit held an event on Friday to help individuals of all abilities have the equipment they need to move around freely.
Renew Mobility has worked for 31 years in West Michigan to break down the barriers that may keep people from getting the mobility equipment they need.
Renew Mobility executive director Coleen Davis says power wheelchairs run between $20,000 to $40,000 and people may not be eligible depending on their diagnosis.
On Friday, individuals could pick up walkers, canes and manual wheelchairs at no cost.
