Michigan Medicine, the University of Michigan health system, is expected to announce the purchase of Sparrow Health.
U of M Health and Sparrow are expected to hold a press conference on Friday to formally make the announcement.
The Sparrow Board of Directors approved the deal on November 28, while the U of M Board of Regents approved the deal on December 8.
According to a press release, U of M has committed $800 million in investments to Sparrow over the next eight years.
