CO2 shortage leads to higher beer prices

A shortage in CO2 could lead to problems for the beer industry in Michigan.

The Jackson Dome industrial facility in Mississippi is experiencing a carbon dioxide production shortage due to a natural contamination issue.

Steven Bertman, director of the Western Michigan University Sustainable Brewery program, says brewers use around 1,000 tons of liquid CO2 ever year.

Bertman says while the Jackson Dome supplier may see a shortage, its no the most important CO2 source in the country.
