Newaygo blaming school closure on illness and staffing shortages

Newaygo Public Schools says its closure this week is due to illness and staffing shortages.

Superintendent Jeff Wright says the district is closed due to illnesses, including COVID and others, which has led to staffing shortages with not enough substitute teachers to fill the gaps.

The district will be closed through Monday, November 15.
