Bill to get rid of Tampon Tax, now law

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed one of two bills that will eliminate the sales tax on feminine hygiene products into law on Thursday.

Senator Winne Brinks of Grand Rapids and Representative Bryan Posthumus of Cannon Township introduced the measures.

Brinks says getting rid of the tax is common sense and fair.

When the bills are fully implemented, the sales tax will be eliminated in around 90 days.
