Funding boost expected to help statewide EMT shortage

The budget approved by the Michigan Legislature this week includes $12.9 million for emergency medical services.

Ambulance industry leaders say the funding can help them attract people back to the field.

There are currently around 1,000 paramedic jobs available in the state.

Those open jobs mean less ambulances on the road.
