And we play a new game! Rule or Bull!
The Big Three 5-12-21
1 The CDC is set to discuss recommending the use of the COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 12-15. Pfizer has approved its vaccine for that age group and the FDA has given emergency use approval. Shots for those 12-15 could begin in Grand Rapids as soon as Saturday if the CDC recommends it.
2 Amid the aftermath of the cyber attack on the Colonial pipeline on the East coast Governor Whitmer is threatening to go after profits from Michigan's Line 5 if it isn't shut down. She issued the warning Tuesday in a letter to Enbridge, a Canadian oil transport company.
Canada’s natural resources minister said the continued operation of the pipeline was “non-negotiable” and warned that in addition to thousands of job losses, a shutdown would require 800 tanker rail cars and 2,000 trucks each day to move oil.
Enbridge says they plan to continue to operate that pipeline unless a Federal agency orders it shut down.
3 Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida have declared emergencies as gas demand soars due to the ongoing Colonial Pipeline crisis.
The company is still working to get its system fully operational again following a hack, and the shutdown has caused serious shortages up and down the East Coast.
Some gas stations are fully out of fuel, while others have been set upon by snaking lines of cars.
Federal and state leaders have warned businesses against price gouging. Federal officials also say they are considering more ways to ease fuel delivery, like shipping fuel to nearby coastal ports. Even American Airlines has had to add stops on two long-range flights out of Charlotte because of the disruption.
