Suspect leaves Norton Shores home after standoff

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — After a nine-hour standoff, the man police had been negotiating with came out of a Norton Shores home.

Officers say they first received a call around 1 p.m. Saturday that a 32-year-old man was in a home, making threats with a gun.

Police say when they arrived on the scene, they evacuated everyone from the home near Wayne Road and Hawley Street, but the suspect refused to come out until after 11 p.m.

Gale says the suspect has felony warrants.

Tactical officers from several jurisdictions responded to the incident.

The suspect is now in custody. No was hurt was injured.
