Consumers Energy calls in extra crews ahead of more storms

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As Consumers Energy crews finish restoring power to those hit by last week’s storms, the utility company is getting ready for another round of winter weather.

Consumers Energy tells 24 Hour News 8 it is asking for more than 100 fresh out-of-state crews to come to Michigan ahead of another potential ice storm. The company is also asking 70 crews from other states already in Michigan to stay here to help handle outages.
