In GR, Nassar survivor fights sex assault myths

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One of the women whose report brought Larry Nassar to justice spoke about confronting sexual abuse as part of the January Series at Calvin College.

Kalamazoo native Rachael Denhollanderpresented "A Time to Speak: Addressing Justice and Forgiveness" in front of a packed auditorium Tuesday afternoon, receiving a standing ovation at the end.

"These are issues that are facing everyone and to be able to have a rich discussion about something that is just pervading our culture, I think, is very important," Denhollander said before going on stage.

Her talk defined justice and forgiveness, examined how to handle and respond to the two, and discussed the impact personal responses can have on survivors.
