Gas leak leads to evacuation at Primary School in Galesburg

GALESBURG, Mich. (WOOD) — Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools has evacuated Galesburg Augusta Primary School because of a small gas leak outside of the building.

In a Wednesday afternoon post on Facebook, the district said all Primary School students and staff were moved to the high school gymnasium.

Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools says parents can pick up their children at the high school or wait for their bus to arrive home as usual. Daycare children must be picked up by 2:45 p.m. at the high school, the district says.

Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools has canceled Math Club and all after school activities for Wednesday.

It’s unclear what caused the gas leak.
