GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — It appears The Orbit Room, an iconic clubs in Grand Rapids, is on the verge of closing.
The venue was closed Monday. Signs posted on the door ordered that it remain unoccupied.
The Orbit Room posted this now-removed status to Facebook earlier today. It claims there is no NYE event and that the longtime West Michigan venue is closing indefinitely.
"THERE IS NO EVENT 'NYE EVENT' AT The Orbit Room #CLOSEDINDEFINITELY," The Orbit Room posted on its Facebook page earlier Monday.
This Dec. 31, 2018, post on The Orbit Room's Facebook page was later released.
Later, the post was deleted.
24 Hour News 8 was told the party has been moved elsewhere.
On Monday afternoon, the owner said the club hasn't yet officially closed, but that its future seems grim. The owner said all shows for January have been canceled.
