Masked gunmen break into apartment, rob tenant

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo County deputies are looking for a pair of thieves who allegedly kicked down a man’s door and robbed him at gunpoint.

Around 11:19 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment in the 3900 block of Crystal Lane near Parkview Avenue in Oshtemo Township, southwest of Kalamazoo.

Deputies arrived to find a tenant who said two armed masked men kicked in his door, threatened him at gunpoint and demanded money.

Neighbors reported hearing four gunshots and authorities say they found shell casings outside the apartment.

Witnesses told police the suspects may have escaped in a white Chevrolet Malibu or Impala-type vehicle.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says no one was injured in the crime.
