CEO of Ford Airport suddenly resigns

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The chief executive officer of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport has resigned after less than two years at the airport.

No reason was given for the sudden resignation of James R. Gill, who also served as president of the airport.

Gill was not at the airport board meeting Friday morning when it accepted his resignation without discussion following a closed meeting. The board appointed chief financial officer Brian Picardat as interim CEO.

Gill has led the state's second-biggest airport since January 2017 and was in charge of day-to-day operations.
