Deputies seek thief who pistol-whipped driver, took SUV

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo County deputies are looking for a man who pistol-whipped a driver and stole his SUV.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the area of an apartment complex, located in the 1300 block of Concord Place Drive in Oshtemo Township, west of Kalamazoo.

Deputies say the victim was confronted by a stranger with a handgun. Investigators say the gunman hit the victim with the weapon before driving off in the victim’s 2007 white Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The victim was treated at the scene by a Life EMS crew.

Detectives didn’t have a concise description of the gunman.
