Mona Shores teacher charged with 3rd-degree CSC

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — A Mona Shores Public Schools teacher is on administrative leave after being charged with criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.

Erik Childers, 28, was arraigned on one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor on Wednesday. Childers teaches music and choir at Churchill and Ross Park elementary schools.

In a letter sent to parents, Mona Shores Public Schools Superintendent Bill O’Brien said the district received a report of inappropriate conduct involving Childers on Monday. The district immediately contacted Norton Shores police and immediately placed him on administrative leave.
