CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — John James, the Republican challenging Debbie Stabenow for her seat in the U.S. Senate, swung through West Michigan Wednesday while on the campaign trail, and he brought a high-profile supporter with him.

Donald Trump Jr. accompanied James on a tour of Skytron, a medical supply manufacturer in metro Grand Rapids. Trump Jr. talked briefly with some of the employees and others gathered for the mid-afternoon event.

While the president's son did not talk to the media, James did, outlining his approach to serving in Washington if he is elected.

Trump and James will be joined by musician Kid Rock for a campaign rally in Pontiac later Wednesday evening.
