GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Police Department Chief David Rahinsky is expected speak Tuesday about an incident that led Grand Rapids officers to briefly handcuff a 12-year-old black child.
Police say it started around 9 p.m. Oct. 9 when someone called 911 to report a neighbor had been shot on Batavia Place NE off of Fulton Street.
The report turned out to be bogus, but while investigating, officers called out the family that was inside the home where it had reportedly happened.
Rennae Wooten said police pointed guns at her kids and briefly handcuffed her 12-year-old daughter.
