Former MSU student accuses former professor of misconduct

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A retired clinical child psychologist believes the former Michigan State University psychology professor who failed to report Larry Nassar was trying to protect himself.

Target 8 found an email that Linda Giacomo, a Minnesota resident, sent her alma mater in November 2017 detailing an interaction with Gary Stollak when she was a grad student in the mid-1970s.

The finding is a result of examining 7,300 emails obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. Target 8 requested emails from several MSU personnel that mention Nassar's name.

Giacomo told Target 8 she decided to email the university after hearing Stollak failed to report abuse disclosed by Kyle Stephens during a 2004 session.
