Business owner convicted for illegal gambling operation

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A business owner faces up to a decade in prison for setting up an illegal gambling operation at his Muskegon internet café.

An Ingham County jury last week found 49-year-old James Scott Postema guilty of conducting an unlicensed and illegal gambling operation at Triple Cherries Internet Café LLC, located at 1930 Apple Ave.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board says authorities raided Postema’s business and Muskegon home in August 2016, taking money, bank and credit union account information, money orders and computer equipment tied to the illegal operation.
