Boy collects blankets for homeless in West Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A 12-year-old boy has started collecting blankets for the homeless in West Michigan.

Even though Samuel VerHage said he can't fix the issue of homelessness, he wants to help in the best way he can. This will be VerHage's fourth year collecting blankets for the homeless.

Samuel's Blankets for the Homeless began in 2015, the idea came to VerHage during the annual Jesus loves Kalamazoo event.
