GRPD waives some fees after vehicles towed

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police have waived some fees for residents whose vehicles were towed from a no-parking zone that was set up for Rich DeVos’ funeral.

Amy Snow-Buckner, Grand Rapids' acting managing director of communications, said about 20 cars near LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church were towed Thursday.

According to Snow-Buckner, the city’s Mobile GR-Parking Services placed no-parking signs in the area about 10 feet apart, more than 24 hours in advance of the funeral. The signs stated any cars parked in the area after 4 a.m. Thursday would be towed.
