1 in custody for questioning after GR bank holdups

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police say they've taken one person into custody for questioning in connection to a robbery and an attempted robbery at two Fifth Third Bank branches in Grand Rapids.

Police say they surrounded a home on Bridge Street NW around 8 p.m. Monday based on information regarding a possible suspect in the crime. That person was taken into custody between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

Police put area banks on alert after the holdups.
