Drive-by shooting near Hope College campus

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a drive-by shooting near Hope College campus prompted the college to send out a shelter-in-place order Sunday night.

The Holland Department of Public Safety told 24 Hour News 8 Tuesday that the drive-by shooting happened near the intersection of 19th Street and College Avenue, blocks from the Hope College campus.

There were no reports of injuries, HDPS said.

Hope College instructed students to take shelter as authorities searched for the suspect. The alert was lifted after nearly an hour.

Suspect information has not yet been released at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
