Deaths of couple near Caledonia deemed suspicious

BOWNE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County detectives are investigating the suspicious deaths of a couple in Kent County.

It started at 11 a.m. Tuesday when a child of the couple asked deputies to check on the man and woman, who lived in the 9000 block of Jordan River Dr. SE in Bowne Township, east of Caledonia.

Kent County Undersheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young tells 24 Hour News 8 investigators found the husband and wife dead inside their home. It’s unclear what led to their deaths.

“The only thing strange I saw was there was a car parked on the hill, which he never did because he has tons of access and a long driveway," said neighbor Zach Austin. "Vehicles were never parked on the hill unless he had big company over."

He said he noticed the car on the hill between Friday and Saturday morning; the vehicle was still there Tuesday morning.
