Amway Grand Plaza Hotel to get $40M facelift

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The glass tower at the Amway Grand Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids will be undergo a transformation.

Amway announced the $40 million renovation project of the exterior of the glass building Tuesday. The project is scheduled to start in January 2019.

The renovation will include new lighter tinted glass. Amway said the most visible change to the tower will be the color of the glass, which will look lighter in shade from street level and more transparent for guests. It will also be slightly reflective.
