10 years of helping athletes with disabilities compete

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Born the son of a South African minister and a missionary, Terence Reuben grew up with humble and grounded beginnings.

"When I was a young kid, people would come to our church and say something like, 'you're going to be a preacher or minister just like your dad,’" Reuben said. "And I'm like, no I don't want to do that, I don't want that life."

He remembers the times as a single-car family, where nothing was handed to him and they worked for what they had. Income aside, Reuben said he was raised with something more valuable than money.
