Utility van driver killed in crash near Wayland

LEIGHTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (via WOOD TV 8) — A man was killed Thursday when a large truck and van collided northeast of Wayland.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of 142nd Avenue and Kalamazoo Drive in Leighton Township. Michigan State Police say a southbound utility van didn't stop at the stop sign and hit a westbound straight truck.

The driver of the van, 30-year-old Lucas Miner of Wayland, died at the scene.
