GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police have determined a man who was found dead in a Mercy Health Saint Mary’s bathroom died from natural causes.
Hospital staff found the man’s body in a bathroom on Thursday, and police were notified at 9:45 a.m. Friday.
Because the man had recently been discharged from the hospital and was no longer a patient, police had to investigate the cause of death to determine if a crime had occurred. Hospital officials didn’t specify why he was admitted. It's unclear if he ever left the hospital.
