Woman sues over salmonella in Honey Smacks

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — An Oklahoma woman is suing Battle Creek-based Kellogg Company over the recent recall of its Honey Smacks cereal.

The woman was one of several people to get a salmonella infection from eating the bad cereal. She says she became violently ill late last month and spent time in the hospital.

In the federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, the woman claims Kellogg failed to follow safety regulations and the tainted product should have never left its facilities.
