OUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — For Marsha Grano and her dog Alfie, a walk along the beach in South Haven follows a thin line.
“When I walk past certain beaches, public and private, I stay right along the lake,” said Grano. “The (no dogs allowed) signs are always there.”
But an enforcer of that rule is proposing a place where man and beast can hit the beach together.
South Haven Police Sgt. Adam DeBoer recently floated an idea to transform Woodman beach into a dog friendly spot.
The plan calls for installing receptacles complete with little bags to collect K-9 leavings.
“I love the idea. I think it's a great idea. There are a lot of people that would appreciate being able to go to the beach and have their dogs with them,” said Grano.
