Spicer: Democrats must own collapsing ObamaCare

From Fox News:

FOX NEWS - In a "First 100 Days" exclusive interview, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer reacted to the failure of a Republican-backed bill that would have made good on a campaign promise to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Spicer said that House Republicans were 10 to 15 votes shy of getting the bill passed, so President Trump asked House Speaker Paul Ryan to pull the bill minutes before a vote was to take place.

"The message today that is sent is: Democrats own ObamaCare," Spicer said. "It's a failing system - skyrocketing premiums and deductibles, and fewer choices. But it's now squarely in the hands of Democrats. They own this."

Spicer said that Trump is a "bit disappointed," because he worked very hard to get the disparate factions of the Republican Party on the same page on health care.

"Ultimately, I think his view on health care is that this is going to collapse on its own," Spicer said. "Democrats and some of these other members are going to come crawling back at some point."

In the meantime, Spicer said, Trump's moving on with the rest of his agenda, including tax reform and immigration.
