With warmer temperatures apparently in the mix for our weather conditions, the open water fishing action, especially on many Michigan rivers, should be ready to heat up.
The Cheboygan River in Northern Lower Michigan and the Muskegon River in West Michigan are among the rivers already reporting better steelhead fishing results this week. According to the Department of Natural Resources weekly fishing report, fishermen are reporting an increase in the steelhead being caught near the dam on the Cheboygan and some steelhead being landed on the Muskegon River. Based on the fishing report and the weather forecast for much of Michigan, the river fishing action should improve on many spots soon. A warm rain, which is in the forecast in some spots in Michigan this weekend, would help quite a bit.
