EGR "We the People" Team raising funds for DC trip

Justin Barclay spoke to several dedicated East Grand Rapids students from the "We the People" program.

Their team studies the US Constitution and competes in congressional-style  hearings on our understanding and application of the Constitution.   They worked hard this Fall and holiday break,  spending several evenings each week outside of school on extra work.  Their hard work paid off, however, when they placed first in their Michigan state competition, which gives them the opportunity to travel to Washington DC to represent  Michigan at the national competition.

They are raising funds to be able to go to the nation's capitol and compete.  They need to raise almost $70,000 to send the entire Team.  Their fundraising has taken place through can drives, pie sales, donations and a live silent auction.
