WEST OLIVE, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners has chosen John Teeples to be its new chairman.
The Republican was elected in November to represent the county's 7th District. He replaces Joe Moss, the founder of the conservative Ottawa Impact group who was re-elected to the county board in November, but not reappointed as chairman.
Josh Brugger was appointed as the vice chair. He represents the county's 10th District.
The Board of Commissioners will hold its next meeting on January 7, in the Board Room at 12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive
"My hope and my prayer is that I will personify what a genuine servant leader looks like," Teeples said. "I will seek understanding and openness. I will always strive to exercise good judgment, and I will seek wisdom on behalf of and for all of Ottawa County."
