The Wyoming Department of Public Safety teamed up with Meijer for the 10th year of Shop with a Hero.
Fifty kids from Wyoming-area schools got a $100 gift card from Meijer to shop for themselves and their families.
Sgt. Rory Allen says for a lot of kids this is their first interaction with police, firefighters or someone in a uniform.
Allen says the event is a chance to spread good and remember what the holidays are about.
