Love wine? Love Coffee? Well, you're in luck because a new coffee and wine bar is set to open on Cherry Street in Grand Rapids.
Chateau Grand Rapids will be located 955 Cherry St. near Lake Street, the former site of the retail shop The Grassy Knoll.
The Chateau will have seating inside for 44 people, plus a patio. During the day, coffee and locally-made pastries will be served. In the evening, it will offer an extensive wine selection with small bites like oysters, cheese and charcuterie boards.
The owners, Chris Swart and his wife, Allaire Swart, spent some time traveling throughout the world and visiting wine bars, and say they wanted to bring a similar experience to Grand Rapids.
The two are expected to recruit for the bar soon, and anyone they hire will be a partner and treated like an owner. Along with making a livable wage, all employees will get a profit share that will be distributed monthly.
The space is set to be ready by December. They hope to have the bar open in some capacity by the end of the year.
