GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - On Tuesday morning, the city of Grand Rapids announced that former Chicago Police Commander Eric Winstrom will be the new police chief.
City Manager Mark Washington will formally introduce Winstrom during a press conference at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. You can watch it on WOOD TV, or on the City of Grand Rapids Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Winstrom will be replacing current GRPD Chief Eric Payne, who announced his plans to retire last year after 35 years as an officer.
