Crash in downtown after suspect flees police

Grand Rapids Police say they arrested a suspect on Monday morning after he fled from officers and crashed in downtown Grand Rapids.

Officials say the 26-year-old man fled from police but officers were unable to get close enough to start a pursuit.

The suspect hit two vehicle in the intersection of Front Avenue and Leonard Street and ran from the scene on foot.

The suspect was wanted for felony assault.
