Muskegon building affordable homes on vacant lot

The City of Muskegon will invest more than $6 million into building affordable homes on vacant lots.

The project will be funded with both public and private funds, using pandemic stimulus money to begin.

City Manager Frank Peterson says the homes will be built in the McLaughlin neighborhood and will be sold at an affordable rate.

Peterson says there are around 800 vacant lots in that area.
