HUDSONVILLE, Mich. - Former Rockford police lieutenant Aaron Michael Sawyer has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a property damage accident, in connection to a two-car crash that happened in Georgetown Township last month.
There was significant damage to both cars in the incident on Dec. 9, but no injuries were reported.
Sawyer was arrested for drunk driving back in 2015 while as a police sergeant at the Rockford Department of Public Safety. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2017.
