Strong Winds Knocking Out Power, Prompting Closures

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Thousands of people are without electricity this morning amid gusty winds in the region.

Around 95,000 utility customers were without power as of 6:40 a.m.

Most outages are being reported north and west of the immediate Grand Rapids area. Still, just over 9,600 Kent County residents are without power.
