GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Charlie's Shoe Repair has closed its McKay Tower location after being in business for over a half-century.
Owner Peggy VanHouten says she finished her last pair of shoes about a week ago.
She estimates that she has fixed between 30 and 40 pairs of shoes every week for 38 years.
