Sandy Hill Elementary will be closed until Monday due to a mineral that can contain asbestos.
Jenison Public School Superintendent Brandon W. Graham sent an email to families saying construction contractors found traces of vermiculite at the school.
Air quality measurements verified there is no asbestos at the school however, the school will be closed to remove any sources of vermiculite.
