A bill drafted by state lawmakers would create a memorial for Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Ryan Proxmire.
Proxmire was shot and killed in the line of duty almost four months ago.
House bill 5585 would dedicate part of US-131 as Sergeant Ryan J. Proxmire Memorial Highway.
The stretch of road would begin at Center Road and continue for south for two miles.
