Federal officials are sending a medical team to help at Spectrum Health after a request by Governor Whitmer.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services approved the request providing a team of 22 medical staff for the hospital for the next 30 days.
MDHHS is also requesting to transfer some civilian patients into empty beds at Veterans Affairs hospitals.
Federal teams are also providing support to Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn.
