Hopkins Public Schools closing due to illness, staffing shortages

Hopkins Public Schools is closing for the rest of the week due to illness that has also caused staffing shortages.

The district sent a letter to parents on Wednesday notifying them of the closure.

HPS says 25 percent of students at Hopkins Elementary School and Hopkins Middle school were absent because of illness or quarantines.

The district will be requiring masks for everyone while indoors the week of November 15-19.
