A student was arrested on Friday after officials found a gun in their backpack.
Byron Center High School went into lockdown around 10 a.m. on Friday after reports of a student with a weapon in their backpack.
Kent County Sheriff's deputies found the handgun in the student's backpack and took both the gun and student into custody.
No one was hurt.
