BATTLE CREEK (WOOD-AM) - Kellogg workers held a strike rally across from the company's headquarters in Battle Creek yesterday.
Members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers' International Union have been on picket lines for weeks.
Trevor Bidelman, the local union chapter president, says the current standoff is over the company's two-tier employment system, which pays less and offers fewer benefits to newer "transitional" workers.
Staffing levels are also an issue.
“We used to have 4,000 employees in our plant," Bidelman said. "We have 325 now."
